Photo Essay: Easter Activities at NPH Dominican Republic’s Casa Santa Ana
Semana Santa is a time to celebrate faith and family, to give thanks for the blessing of health and moments of joy in these dark times.
April 15, 2020 - Dominican Republic
Holy Week, or Semana Santa as it is known in Spanish, is a time to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus. At NPH Dominican Republic the children are instructed in the Catholic faith. They are encouraged to internalize Christian values and the significance of Easter.
For this reason, Holy Week activities at Casa Santa Ana center on teaching our children the significance and importance of Jesus in our lives.
Some of these activities are:
• Liturgy of the Word and the story of Palm Sunday
• Youth-centric Easter celebrations
• Remembrance of the institution of the Eucharist and other sacraments
• Holy Way of the Cross
• Easter Sunday
This Easter, especially amid the difficulties of COVID-19, teachings focused on hope and healing.
Please support our NPH homes during this time of need. Any help you can give is well received and accepted graciously. Please visit nph.org for more information.
